Ἀκούετε Ministries

Let me tell my story...

κούετε (akouete) pronounced (ah-koo-EH-teh) is the Biblical Greek command to "Listen" with an emphasis on listening with the intent to understand.  In the original production, this phrase was spoken at the top of act 2, noting how when Jesus entered the world, things were different.  He listened to the people who were around him, heard their own stories and then commanded his disciples to do the same.

The Mission

Creating works of art that share the Christian story through the lens of women’s experiences and highlights the importance of the act of intentional listening.

Educating audiences on creative ways of engaging with theological concepts by revealing how empathy and narrative invite transformation and community.

Building community through performances, talkbacks, devotional materials and even retreats and training to support ongoing dialogues in churches and other community spaces.

The Show

Becky performing Elizabeth monologue in The Bible Women's Project

She Speaks, I Listen:

Encounters with the Women in the Bible

is a performance that weaves together both faith and theater.  Each piece of the performance is drawn directly from Scripture and prayerfully reimagined as a personal encounter and testimony to God’s character.  I invite you to enter the story – to stand in the place of these women and experience the relationship between Creator and creation, storyteller and listener, Word and flesh.

The Book

In the Time of Journeys, a devotional journey through the stories of women in Genesis. With cultural and biblical insight, paired with my own testimony and insightful questions this book encourages you to share your own story and find yourself as part of God's redemptive story.

A perfect companion for small groups or your own self discovery.

"I would absolutely read it, use it and recommend it."

"I could not put it down.  Every woman that is brought out, stirs a different emotion...My personal favorite story was the Sarah and laughter part.  It brought out a lot of things I've never thought about before  and so that stuck with me!"
